Occasional Long-Time Block Visitor Returns..

It had been years since I visited The Block, but since growing up/going to college in the DMV area - I made it a point to stop by there every so often (meaning every few years) when the occasion presented itself.

As others had mentioned, the Block is not particularly the safest area, so you have to be alert and be careful. I made it a point to go to the bathroom at the Subway sandwich shop down the street first (I bought a soda there) while figuring out my game plan for the rest of the night. I arrived Sunday at about 10:30PM and it was not crowded; there was no cover charge.

My evening had started earlier in the night at Gold Club (see separate review). Part of the reason I started there was to try something new, and because most of the Block establishments are fairly small and cramped. Given that it was a Sunday, I assumed that it wasn't going to be as horribly crowded as a Friday/Saturday etc. - but I didn't want to start my night out potentially waiting in lines, not having a place to sit, etc., etc.. I don't like crowds to begin with, so I typically prefer larger clubs.
