An Atlanta Institution
I was in town for business, and decided to check out the "day shift" at Follies. When I arrived around 6:30 PM, the place was already swarming. After a quick patdown from an intimidating guy decked out in camo gear, I paid the ten dollar cover fee and entered into the club. I was immediately overwhelmed by the smell of smoke. I guess Atlanta is one of the few places where you can still smoke and watch a show at the same time.
The layout of the interior was pretty standard. There's a bar in the middle of the room, and two stages, one to the left and another to the right. On the left side of the room, there's a set of couches where you can get ten dollar dances. The right side of the room was comprised mostly of high chairs/tables. During the first few hours of my visit, stage dancing was virtually non-existent, as the majority of the dancers were busy dancing for customers, and or socializing with their coworkers.
In terms of looks, the majority of the dancers ranged from 6-8, with a decent mix of white, latin american, and african american dancers. Many of them were on the thicker side, but there were also a few hotties. Relative to other clubs I've been in, I feel like I had to be extra aggressive in trying to flag down the attention of dancers. This is likely a function of the layout of the seating arrangement, and the high customer to dancer ratio. All in all, I received a total of 8 dances from three different dancers. Mileage was on the higher side (hands were encouraged to roam all over) but nothing that I hadn't experienced before. Two of the dancers asked me if I was interested in going to the VIP room for $300. Both were quite up front about the extensive menu options. I did not investigate further (the black light revealed a lot of things that grossed me out)
