A Pleasent Surprise ... and then Disappointment...

I had just about given up. After five or six totally worthless visits to the downriver and airport clubs (Subi’s, Cricket, Landing Strip, Bogart’s, Flight Club) I had concluded that clubbing had become a waste of money and time, at least in the mid to late afternoons when I typically could visit. Unattractive, out of shape, and uninteresting woman combined with expensive drinks and generally boorish dancer behavior at every club had combined almost destroy my enthusiasm for the sport. But of course, as we all know after three or four weeks without a club visit we start to rationalize. Afterall, maybe things have (irrationally) changed overnight and the glory days will reappear!

Well I had few hours to kill around the airport on Friday, and had a fair bit of extra cash in my pocket, so what harm could a relaxed, low expectation visit to the Flight Club cause (except for the valet fee, booth fee, drink costs...). So I stopped in. And was I surprised! I arrived around 4 pm and decided to splurge on a booth (always recommend ant any of the above named locations if you are really interested in having some fun, although only the Flight Club will typically cost you at this time of day). There were well over 30 entertainers, with the majority better looking than I have seen in several years. Almost all were white, I saw only two AAs and maybe two hispanics, all generally attractive and well proportioned (only 3 or 4 overweight and out of shape in my view). A lot of blondes, but plenty of varirty. For the first time in a long time I did not see any dancer I would rate below a 7 (including those out of shape - at least they were cute), with many 8s and one or two stunning 9s. Frankly I was amaized given most of my visits to area clubs over the past two years.

One thing I will say that is consistent about the Flight Club is the relatively high cost of drinks - soda water with lime $9, glass of decent house wine $13 -
