Not Impressed, But Probably Worth Another Visit

I stopped by Desire at about 9:00 p.m. It’s a smallish club at the corner of Highway 54 and Grand Boulevard. The parking lot is a little tight, but no charge to park. The cute door girl said the cover charge was $8, but then noticed I was wearing a fleece jacket with a military logo on it and waived the cover. I threw a couple of bucks in her tip jar instead.

The club is basically a long rectangle. The bar is to your front as you enter the club. Beer is $4. The stage is in the far right corner. The club looks pretty nice, as if it has been remodeled recently. There are lots of flat screen TVs mounted on the walls, and everything looks fairly new. The DJ was playing classic rock, which I like, instead of the usual strip club BS. So far so good.

Now the bad news: the dancers. No girls on stage for most were of my short visit. There were only six or sogirls working, most white, two AAs. Most were just average looking, or below, although there was one really cute spinner in a red bikini. A lumpy looking, mid-thirtyish blonde approached and sat down uninvited next to me at the bar. She tried to engage me in a conversation, but I wasn’t interested. After a few minutes she asked if I was interested in a dance. I declined and she moved on. I didn’t even ask how much because I didn’t want to give her the impression I was even slightly interested, so I can’t report on dance prices here.
