Disappointing Afternoon Visit
This was my first trip to The Lodge in years and my first ever lunch time visit. As with most clubs they have a cheaper day cover at $5.00. In terms of the club itself not much has changed. It still has that hunting lodge feel that walks a fine line between classy and a little cheesy. Note this place is more like a fancy restaurant then the more common sports club theme. The club is basically two rooms and a second floor; the second floor is the VIP area. After paying the cover you enter the first room right next to the bar. The main stage was across the room and a couple of small satellite stages that were used somewhat intermittently. Next to the poker table were two entrances to the second room. This room is called the library and seemed even more upscale and had its own small stage. The downside to this setup is that there is nowhere to sit and watch the entire club and dancers.
I found a seat and ordered the lunch special for $6.00; with a drink it was around $12.00 total. While waiting for my food I watched the dancers and was surprised at the lower quality of the dancers when compared to their night shift. I know that is common at many clubs but I figured they would have higher standards. I finished my food with no dances and went back to work.
I will return to the Lodge but only at night.
