The End of an Era

I went to Paradizio Saturday around 2 in the afternoon. Club Paradizio or the old Champagne Room is dead with little change of being revived. No more lap dancing at the bar unless it is done standing up. This was being enforced. They have a VIP area for $25, which is nothing but the back of the club separated by an opaque shower curtain. Day time drink prices were raised from $3 to $5 for a domestic beer. Same girls and same crappy environment the prices have just doubled for everything. Why would anyone come here? The bathroom is still horrible and the urinal doesn’t work. Dancers typically show up around 2. The old joke was that the girls who dance here cannot dance anywhere else. They had been ejected from Vic’s and Candy Girls and this was the last bar was the last stop.

In the old days, before they closed, this bar was fun. You could get a FS lap dance at the bar. During the day drink prices were cheap. Almost all of the dancers were AAs, with a few Haitians and PRs. It really was a lot of fun. Now you have rules, higher prices and bar tenders who will hit you up to buy them drinks. During the day I don’t see how this place will complete with the likes of Clancy’s and Shakers were you have a nice environment and attractive dancers. It will be interesting to see what happens but I will not be back anytime soon.
