Its what you expect, but that's OK

I've been to the Purple Orchid many times over the past 10 years. Its a urban/city club set in a former shopping strip right on Passayunk Ave. Easy to get to/lots of parking.

I usually go during the day, as I don't live nearby and stop in when I happen to be driving through that part of Philly. Dancers at that time of day are usually WOC, so if that's not your thing, be advised.... Bottle of Coors light was $6.50, so I'd not plan of having too many drinks, and saving your cash for the dancers, who are usually a mix of ages and shapes. But they are all very friendly, and not pushy for dances. there's a $20 dollar a dance room, where limited touching is allowed, and a $30 dollar a dance room with flexible rules :)
