Manatees in G Strings

Recent Friday afternoon visit to Dream Girls. I walked in to the club and stopped in my tracks when I looked at the bar to the right of the entrance. Someone had imported several manatees to Michigan and they were lounging on the bar stools (actually overflowing the bar stools would be a better descriptor). I could have sworn that manatees were an endangered species (or threatened) and were restricted to warm water regions. Furthermore, as my eyes adjusted to the dark, I noticed the G strings-- what a novel idea. Dressing a manatee in a G string.

After I ordered a beer (cheap on Friday afternoons!), one of endangered species oozed on to the stage and rolled around. It was a sight to behold when she turned over--- the frame flipped first and the tissue attached loosely to the frame slowly reassembled in the correct plane for her frame.

It turned out that she was not alone: there was a herd of overweight dancers working this shift. I did not see any dancer who weighed less than 180 pounds.
