Summary of a couple of recent trips
Found myself in the vicinity of the Planet a couple of times recently, once on a Friday evening and the other on a Saturday afternoon. Consistent with a review I submitted last year, Friday was definitely the better of the two visits. First, the bartenders (Renee and Skylar) were great eye candy. The dancers were not too bad, either (although I could do without seeing Cassandra there every time I go at night). The biggest change I saw on this visit was a live band that started playing at 9 PM. I have to say that I'm not a fan of the concept - it completely changed the vibe of the place and the volume made it hard to have any kind of conversation with the dancers and BTs. Was having a good time up until then and had planned to stay later, but ended up leaving about 45 minutes after they started.
Second visit was on a Saturday afternoon and thankfully there was no band in sight. In fact, there weren't many customers in sight, either. Dancers were Cindy (another staple here), Cassandra, a WOC who said she had only recently started working here (didn't catch a name) and Rosanna (formerly of Rest-a-Bit). Sarah was on BT duty. Rosanna looked quite busy with a few of her regulars but other than that the place was kind of lifeless. Cindy tried to get a dance out of me but I declined - been there, done that numerous times.
Bottom line: this is a good laid-back place to have a couple of drinks and not have to deal with a relentless dollar parade, which is a lot more than you can say for some other places in NJ.
