Maybe Some Other Time?
Got to Piccadilly at around 4:20. It's in a rundown area, but I wouldn't really call it ghetto or whatever. The door was locked, which I thought was strange. I heard music, though, so I rang the doorbell. The guy buzzed me in and after walking down a small corridor I got to him and paid the $10 cover.
The club has basically the same setup twice: there's a bar, a stage with a pole, and some seating on each of two levels. The upper level (it's not 'upstairs' - there's two or three stairs separating them) wasn't really in use, although one guy took a girl up there to get a dance. Lower level was obviously the main area. It had more TVs (4-2) and it was where everyone was hanging out. Music must have come from a jukebox, as I didn't see a DJ. There were 5 guys there and 2 girls. The things that struck me were the big black box with a padlock on it, the gaming machines, and the old school urinals. One girl was stage dancing when I got there: she was thick with a short haircut that was dyed blue. The other girl had her hair dyed red at the tips. I was only interested in the girl on stage at that point.
She left the stage and went to talk to this one guy. She talked to him for maybe 20 minutes. In that time, another two girls came in who looked like dancers: one had green hair, one had black hair (oh: all the girls were black and they were all fairly dark except the girl with the blue hair). Blue haired girl then talked to another guy for 10 minutes. During this time, none of the other girls got ready and no one went on stage. She went back to the first guy for another 20 minutes: two more girls came in that looked like dancers, but they hung out at the bar. One asked me how I was doing as she went from one end of the bar to the other, but she was easily the worst looking of the 6 dancers. I spent my time watching the football games: Saints/Ravens and Cowboys/Skins were the options.
