The Republican is a member's only club, the doorman is pretty strict about this.

The first night I went to The Republican, I applied for membership, and was turned away at the door.

About a month later I revisited, paid the membership fee at the door and was allowed in.

The building is not very big, 2 levels split by a few stairs with bathrooms in the basement.
