I went to Omar’s Showbar on a Saturday night about 00:40. There was a $10 cover charge at the door. For the month of September, Omar’s will not be charging cover from 17:00 to midnight on all days. Sixteen ounce aluminum Budweiser bottles were $5 on Saturdays. The rest of the week, $5 gets you a twelve ounce glass bottle. There is one large main stage with two spinning poles. The is a small satellite stage on the far side of the club that is 4’x4’ and a 1’ off the ground. Be aware the ATM has a 10% fee on all transactions with a minimum fee of $10. Also avoid using your credit card on drinks because they will tack on an extra 3% for credit card transactions. The club has a kitchen with all items costing $11 or less.
There were about 16-18 dancers on the Saturday night shift. Most were white, but a few were African-American. Dancers ranged from a 1 to a 7.5. For being a few blocks down the street from the Michigan State Capitol and across the street from the Lansing Convention Center, I would not have expected such a lackluster queue of entertainers. Lap dances are $25 per song, and there were really no ladies I was itching to take upstairs at that rate. None of the waitresses were even fuckable. The club was packed with groups of guys and a dozen couples imbibing. The dancer to customer ratio was about 1:7.
