I've been back a few times over the summer. Each time I've hoped the next visit will be better. The attitude of all staff - management, security, and dancers - has gone to hell. No smiles, no greetings, no handshakes, no positive vibe at all. The loss of several key dancers who were known for going above and beyond is killing business. Along with that, the smoking ban has made it even less inviting to go there if you're a smoker. Sure, the government is now requiring the enforcement of the ban, but for whatever reason, the Hole has been severely crippled by the ban. More importantly, the attitudes of the dancers have deteriorated. Where they used to be handsy bar-side, they barely show interest in selling dances. Just pick up a $3 tip and move along. No one returned to me despite my hints that they should after their rounds. I was there with money to spend. With one exception, none of the dancers asked if I wanted a dance. To her credit, one Brazilian did ask if I wanted a dance, but it was so hard to understand her that I declined. Oh, and did I mention that when I first entered, there was no bartender to be found? Giving them the benefit of timing, it was a slow period, between 7 and 9 PM that I was there. One didn't even go topless on stage, and could barely smile or make eye contact when she approached me. When I asked what was wrong, she told me she was having a bad day. I wished her well and let her go on her way. There's no way anyone in sales is going to be successful with that temperament and attitude.
Hopefully, with the end of summer business at the Hole will improve, and with it, the quality of dancers and their attitudes.
