Rockin The Mic

I hit up Atlantis around 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. Was originally headed to La Pearl, but made a last-minute change. Definitely wasn’t disappointed with the decision, but I do still want to hit La Pearl/Outer Space at some point.

Like mentioned before, Atlantis is a basement and you have to go down some steps to get to it. What I haven’t seen mentioned yet, is the surprisingly non-cryptic surrounding area. This place is basically on a college campus, so it’s a little less nerve racking for people unfamiliar with Philadelphia (I’ve heard some crazy stories). However, once you get inside, it’s just a basement strip joint. There’s one bar in the back, some private $30/dance VIP rooms near the entrance to the left and the one large communal $20/dance VIP room with couches near the entrance to the right. Also, near the entrance is the bathroom. If you’re thinking about hitting VIP, stop there first and put some napkins in your pocket. Like mentioned in other reviews, the girls don’t give a f**k about cleaning up afterwards. (more details later)

When I got to the club, it was damn near empty. Two dudes that looked like regulars were sitting at the bar with two mixed girls. The bartender was on her phone and there was one girl on stage, but she looked more like she was practicing her moves for later vs actually dancing. The whole thing looked like a wash until I noticed an AA spinner sitting by the bar. She was SUPER short, petite frame and had a nice little bubble butt. Not my usual type, but good enough given the circumstances. She comes over to say hello and we engage in some light-hearted banter. She started talking about the different options for dances and said some girls “give a little extra” in VIP. I told her I was interested in extra and she said she was one of those girls.
