Expensive 45 minutes

I visited Ye Olde Axe last Wednesday at 5:45pm. I had hoped to arrive early enough to avoid an entrance fee, but no such luck. A guy on the door asked for £5 before I could go in.

It was perhaps unsurprisingly very quiet inside. I only saw two dancers when I first arrived, but I think my arrival coincided with a shift change. There were about eight dancers by 6:30pm.

I went to the bar and ordered a bottle of Budweiser, which was £5 and barely chilled. The first dancer pounced on me before the beer arrived. After some brief small-talk and hugs (including a tweak below my belt), she asked if I wanted a dance. I declined because I could see there were better options available.
