I went to Centerfolds on a Saturday night about 20:45. The parking lot needs to be repaved, and despite a green and white paint job, the exterior of the club looks like it has seen better days. There was a sign on the wall upon entering that said there was a $10 cover and a two drink minimum, but they did not charge me a cover. The club was pretty dead for a Saturday night; if they charged me cover, I might have just walked right out. I saw two Mexican guys come in about an hour later that were charged $5 each for entry. Sincweisers were $5 per bottle. The interior is large and open. There is a long runway stage with three pole positions below a tipping counter. Smoking is allowed inside in a back portion of the club. Lap dances take place in booths along the parking lot wall of the club. There is a short wall blocking the view to the booths from the rest of the club, but there are cameras in the ceiling pointed at the booths. Lap dances are $25 per song. A half hour VIP is $125 for thirty minutes. The VIP is the same thing as the lap dances, only a better deal. Buying songs individually, one would get five for $125. Buying the half hour VIP, one would get eight to ten songs for $125.

There were only seven dancers working by the time I departed about 22:00. Five were black and two were white, and I do not think any of them were attractive enough to be a centerfold. Dancers seemed to be bored out of their minds with a lack of customers. All of them were looking at their smartphones on the floor. I was first accosted by light black skinned dancer named Exotic who was not HWP. She had a big ass and small boobs. Next up was Gabriella, a white brunette who was maybe 23-25. Out of all my available options she might have been the most appealing of the seven. I bought her a shot, which costed $10, then I took her up on an offer for lap dances. Contact was solid two way touching, but her hips were a little too wide for a good deep grind. Back at the table I inquired if extras were available. She said I’d have to buy a $125 VIP session if she was going to answer me. It sounded like a scam. There was too much risk buying a half hour only to be told “no” or to get quoted outrageous prices. I left for downtown at 22:00 and ended up picking up a horny college girl at Duke’s.

Out of the three strip clubs in Lansing, Centerfold’s is the urban strip club, as most of the dancers and clientele seemed to be African-American. I was told that the club does not get busy until midnight on a Saturday. This seemed odd since the closing time in Lansing is 02:00! Overall, I was surprised Centerfolds was so dead on a Saturday night. I will give it a second go before writing it off.
