Visited: Sunday Afternoon

Having spent Thursday, Friday and Saturday visiting a handful of clubs while in the Detroit area, I had some time to kill before my flight out Sunday, and Henry the VIII was one of the few clubs open in the afternoon. I ended up being there from 2:30-3:30 and from 4:00-6:00. Parking was free, there was a $5.00 cover, and bottled water was $6.50. I had been here once before in 2015, so I knew it was a dive. I like dives.

Initially, there were only four or five dancers on duty, black and white, all in the 5-6 range. Got a nice personal handshake from a couple of them and more or less shooed off the others. Though there weren't many girls there, the stage was constantly occupied (for four-song sets) and the dancers were either topless, or nude. Those not completely nude were not shy about occasional flashes of, um, personality. A couple of the girls were OK-looking in my book, but I decided to get a pass from the doorman for free entry to Bogart's nearby to see what they had to offer. (See separate review.) Thirty minutes later I was back at Henry the VIII. Before I left the second time, there were probably about 8 or 9 dancers on duty.

Entry to the lap dance area costs $10 (a one-time fee for a wristband), then $20 per song. Dances are done in very small private rooms with a barely-padded bench and a curtain. Others can't see you, but they can hear you, as the music is not nearly as loud back there. No matter – no one cares what you're doing. I got some HM dances from one girl and some VHM dances from another (including an occasional, brief BBBJ). Before I left for the airport, I returned to the LD room for higher mileage fun and satisfaction.
