We visited Bare Elegance on a Monday evening from about 9 to midnight, when it was moderately busy--about 20 patrons, about 6 or 7 of whom were women accompanying men. In fact, at one point, women patrons outnumbered men at the stage 4 to 3. The dozen or so dancers ranged from 5 to 8 in quality, nothing amazing, but nothing awful. Most were a bit on the slim and flat-chested side. They danced reasonably well on stage, with somewhat erotic moves. Okay for a Monday evening.

We happened to catch the amateur contest, which started at about 10:30 (not 10, as the entry-fee collector said). According to the Bare Elegance employees, a total of about $800 in prize money was involved, which seemed enough to draw some talent. Two individual judges were chosen by lottery. I was chosen to be one and was also awarded the front-row center seat for the big event. Eleven girls entered, most of whom clearly were amateurs, and who’d probably only been practicing at home. Indeed, a few were a bit painful to watch (I didn’t realize anyone with a butt that big would want to expose it in public, let alone as a stripper…). But a few were quite good. The winner, a short, slim woman who called herself Skylar, and who danced to jungle-drum dance music, was amazing. I’d say she was one of the most erotic dancers I’ve ever seen. I'm guessing she wasn't an amateur...

During the hour-and-a-half-long contest, the club dancers continued to dance continuously, but almost unnoticed, on the smaller stage, so one could’ve avoided seeing the few disasters of the amateur contest and simultaneously get some great, essentially private, dancing there for a minimal cash outlay in tips.
