Great Facilities, Good Dancers, Low Mileage
I am a Detroit club regular traveling through Atlanta for work. When I asked TUSCL for recommendations for an "upscale" club to visit, I was directed to The Cheetah. This was obviously the right answer for my particular preferences, so thanks to all who offered help!
The Cheetah is very much an upscale club. The facilities are some of the best I've ever seen. The main room consists of a very spacious central floor filled with tables. Three stages and two bars flank the floor, while two dining areas are secluded along the periphery. The executive VIP area is separate from the main floor, and includes several options: yet another bar, a few semi-private "lounge" areas, and several private rooms (albeit with glass doors, so not the kind of "private" that will lead to extracurricular fun). I was very impressed with the executive space and would love to spend more time here if/when I can afford to.
I came late on a Saturday afternoon and stayed for the shift change (around 8pm). There were at least 4 dancers on stage at all times (and many more than that by the end of the night). They appeared to be working in four, four-song rotations--so basically 15 minutes on stage every hour. A $5 tip gets a dancer's top off; the next $5 removes the bottoms. Most dancers were quickly nude thanks to the generous patrons. The bar seating filled up quickly, likely due to the proximity to the side stages, while the central tables seemed least desirable. I started at the bar, but went to the dining area for dinner and a slightly more private conversation with my favorite dancers. (By the way, the food was quite tasty, if a little pricy by Michigan standards. Drinks were reasonably priced--roughly $8 for a good beer, $11 for a cocktail.)
