Thursday at Emigrante

I went to Emigrante last Thursday early in the evening. I thing we got there just before 8 and there were about 5 dancers working. A beer was $4. The bar itself is the standard rectangle with a stage in the middle. The dancers will dance for a bit then circle the bar looking for tips. Parking is on the street, which in Newark can be very tough. The bar itself has a pretty cool feel to it. It is nice and modern and by no means a dump. The problem with this place was that none of the girls dancing were young. You had some older women dancing and a few did have nice bodies but the hottest girls in there were the bartenders. Also, there is no lap dancing or private dancing. The most damning thing about this club is their Champagne Hustle. The dancers will hit you up to buy them a drink which will be a pony beer for $10. That is a 6 or 7 once beer which cost more than double what your beer cost. This is standard for the Go Go bars in Newark's Ironbound section. I would not repeat.
