Revisiting the Outer Limits while passing through

The last Friday of July I found myself traveling up I-35 to Minnesota for the first time in a few years and figured Des Moines would be a good stopping place and an opportunity to visit the Outer Limits. The last time I had stopped in here was about 4 to 5 years ago, at that time it had a laid back neighborhood bar feel combined with a strip club. When I arrived this night, it was slightly after 7:00 PM, so I had to pay a $4 cover and ordered a Bud Light, which ran about $4.75 since it was after their afternoon specials had ended for drink prices. This place does have a full bar with liquor as well.

There were a couple of ladies sharing the large stage that is on your right as you walk in and were pretty interactive with the guys on tippers row. There were other dancers hanging out at the bar or with what appeared to be regulars and a list of what dancers were there that night could be seen hanging on a support post located between the bar and the dancers stage. The number of ladies with regulars is one reason why I think this really feels like a neighborhood bar, since it seems like some of the gentlemen there may have been coming for years, if not decades, on a regular basis.

Found a seat at a table toward the back corner of the club to get a feel for the place that night. After a couple songs had finished, the duo came off and another dancer came up on stage. A dancer came over from the bar, sat down and introduced herself and then almost immediately inquired about getting a private dance. This was a little different than my experiences from years ago, in that quite often there would be a conversation and small talk first to give the illusion of interest before the private dance sales pitch. Stalled for a bit by getting another beer, while she looked through her phone to pick out her songs for her next stage set. Finished my second beer and decided to go ahead and get a dance with her. The "private" area is not very private and depending on where you are, people could easily look in on you. Got a couple of dances from her, which were very enthusiastic, almost to the point that it was painful with how hard she was bouncing around. After the two songs ($20 per song) went back to the stage area while she got ready to go on stage.
