Lots of changes
Platinum used to be one of my usual hangouts. There aren't too many places you can go and smoke a cigar and relax. I haven't been out to a strip club in awhile. I arrived around 10 PM on a Saturday night. As usual at the door you are asked to present your ID to have it scanned by a bouncer and pay your cover ($8). A fair warning, even if you are older, you must present your ID. One time we were turned away because my friend didn't bring his ID and he definitely looks older than 21. My first indication that things were going to be a little different than what I'm used to at the club is that I was given singles for change. Since I started going to this club you were always given two dollar bills for change at the door. When I went to the bar to grab a beer I was also given singles for my change. I used to have to ask the bartenders for singles instead of twos but they automatically gave them to me.
For a Saturday night at 10 the club was pretty busy customer wise. It was hard to find a table that was close to the stage. I did notice that the club seemed empty with girls. Usually by this time on a Saturday there are plenty of girls walking the floor and I didn't see that many girls out. On the stage, there was only one girl out at a time. They did their one song and went off to the one satellite stage by the men's room and did a song there and then went to the second satellite by the champagne rooms. I smoked my cigar and had my beer at a table while watching the main stage. There were a few customers sitting at the main stage. Of the 8 girls who danced on the main stage, 4 of them remained completely clothed during their song and the other 4 went topless. This club used to be great as far as nudity went. A few years ago every girl would be topless on stage and almost everyone would be completely nude by the time they made it to a side stage. It's a little disappointing to go to a strip club and not see naked women. I was approached by 3 different girls throughout the night while I was sitting down. None of them offered a dollar dance / table dance or even sat on my lap. They simply walked over and asked if I wanted to go in the back. I'm not really one to just go back for a private without a dollar dance or having seen the girl on stage so I politely said no.
After all of this, I was approached by Amy who is one of my favorite girls at the club. We caught up and talked for a bit. After a while I went to the back with her and had two dances. As we were walking to the back she asked me if I was aware of the private dance changes. I told her no. You now have to pay to get into the private room at this club. It is only $5 a song which is cheaper than places like the Pleasure Dome, Diamond Club, and the Grandview. The actual price for the dance is still decided by the dancer herself. So if a girl tells you $30 a song, you need to add another $5 to get into the room. There is a girl set up with a cash register right inside the room who you go to first and give your money to and tell her how many dances you want. The cashier actually has a checklist of the women who have been back and makes a note of all this. Otherwise the private room is still the same. It's still the rows of couches with dividers between each couch. If there is someone getting a dance across from you, you can still see everything that is going on there. The room seemed a lot more lit up than it used to be. I remember sometimes it being really dark. Amy gives a very nice private dance, very sensual and fully nude. After the dance, I left the club. All in all, it wasn't a horrible visit. The women at the club are all very attractive but I was disappointed at the lack of nudity here. I don't get to go out to these places much anymore and my reason for going is to see some T&A. I think the next time I go out I'll probably go to a BYOB / fully nude club where the women most likely won't be as attractive as the women at Platinum but they will at least be showing off.
