Uhmm, No.
With a few hours before my flight, my plan was to swing by Flight Club and/or Criket to check out the day shifts, but since Henry the VIII was in the area too, I decided to check it out, too. The building looks like it was built in the 60s or 70s, with little to no maintenance since then. Time and entropy have taken their toll. The large free parking lot was mostly empty at 2:00 p.m. Cover was $5.
Inside the place is a dump. There is a bar in the right corner with a small square stage across from the bar. The stage looks like it was built by amateurs. No, that would be an insult to amateur carpenters. It looks like it was built by someone who was totally untrained. The steps up the stage were only a couple of inches wide and couldn’t possible meet code. The two poles on stage were actually plumbing pipes, as were the handrails on the ceiling to assist with pole tricks. It doesn’t get much divier than this. OK, Henry the VIII South was divier, but not by much.
Beer was $6.75. The bartender was the cutest girl in the place, but that’s not saying much. There were about six or eight dancers, and impressive number of an empty dump in the middle of the day. They were about half white, half AA, and one Asian. On my scale the looks ranged from 2-4, all over the hill, dumpy looking, obese, or some combination thereof. The best looking one was a white spinner that looked like she was probably pretty at one time, but she had a lot of hard years on her. I was told dances are $25, with a one time $10 fee for the dance area. I was offered BBBJ for $100. Maybe next time. But probably not. On to the Flight Club.
