Ugh
This is a true dive bar. I arrived around 10:00ish. There were a few cars out front, but the large lot to the left of the building was almost empty—maybe one or two cars. No cost to park. Inside, the doorman charged me a $5 cover and gave me a small blue ticket—like the kind you used to get at movie theaters years ago. I asked him what it was for. He told me to give it to the bartender so she would know I paid the cover. OK. Weird. I thought he was there to make sure I paid the cover.
I went up the bar, gave the bartender my ticket, ordered a $6.75 beer, and looked around. This place is a dump: worn out, ratty looking building, worn out ratty looking furniture, and worn out ratty looking dancers. I think there were about eight working, mostly obese, middle-aged AAs, but there was one who looked like she might be a Latina and one white girl. I would rank the best of them a 4, at that’s being generous.
One plus: every dancer that wasn’t already tied up stopped by to say hello and ask if I was interested in any “fun.” A bigger plus: they left immediately when I told them I just wanted to chill and sip my beer. I didn't inquire about he price of anything because I didn't want to give anyone the idea I was interested. I left after 15 minutes, never to return.
