Nasty smelling place

I read several other reviews before visiting the Ballpark, so I had some idea of what to expect. I went for the full value dances in the booths, knowing that none of the dancers were beauties and the place really, really reeked of cigarette smoke. There's nothing like seeing these women for yourself, however, to really appreciate what "none were beauties" actually means. One was youngish but very large, and not in an attractive way (and, yes, there is such a thing). One was around 40, kind of haggard, drunk, and heckling her coworkers when they danced. And through all of it was the truly disgusting smell of stale cigarette smoke -- made all the more obnoxious by the fact that you don't run into that smell anymore in any other state. I went in for one dance with the big girl, kind of shuddering as I came out of the booth. I made arrangements with another woman, but she cancelled when she was reminded that another guy had already asked for a dance from her. I took that opportunity to say adios, feeling like I'd been given a pass from any further punishment. The only good thing to say about this place is that it's just a few miles across the river to the Playhouse in Burlington, which is where I went after leaving the Ballpark ... for ever.
