Visited: Saturday Evening

This review is about a visit to Flashdancers on Saturday evening June 2, 2018 from about 9:30 to 11. My original plan for this evening was to watch the 3rd game of the Stanley Cup finals (I am a fan of the Washington Capitals) but the half-ass hotel near Penn Station that I was staying at didn’t have the necessary channel on its TV system. So I decided instead to go look at some titties. Flashdancers was about a mile walk from my hotel, on Broadway near 53rd Street at the northern end of the theater district. The club is in the basement and just has a narrow door on the street leading to stairs down to the club. As you enter the bar is on the right and the main stage on the left. There are chairs around the stage and tables a bit back. There are what looked like reserved tables behind the stage but they weren’t in use. It was dark and ceilings were low. The cover was $20. They were trying to be upscale, the male employees wearing suits. They presented the place as a strip club, not a sports bar, no TV’s anywhere. The female bartenders and servers were in various levels of undress. I had a bottle of water for $11. There was not too much of a push for drinks. The place was about 2/3 full when I arrived and was getting crowded by the time I left, both out in the club and in the lap dance areas. There were a few male-female couples among the customers.

The main stage had 2 poles. There was also a small 1 pole stage called the VIP stage beyond the main stage and also 2 poles inside the bar. There were about 40 dancers, mostly mid-20’s, decent looking, not fat, few tats. There were 2 dancers on the main stage at all times and often at the other poles as well. They got topless early on in the set. Not a lot of pole work, constrained by the low ceiling. A number of the dancers were just sitting on chairs on the far side of the bar. Lap dances were in 2 areas of the club one in front and one in the back on open couches with little privacy although dark. There was also a room near the entrance labeled the “Blue Room” which appeared more private. Dances were $20 per song payable to the dancer afterwards. Songs seemed full length. All the dancers I had dances with started in the middle of a song, but none of them counted the partial song, a nice professional touch.

I had dances with 3 women. 2 songs with a Russian woman, a decent grind but kind of average.
