Saturday Afternoon

As the title says, I was in the area and I was waiting for the Belmont Stakes. I did a short tour of the Mannheim Rd. strip with no outstanding experiences. There has been a lot said on other boards about the fact that the dance area has been boarded up, and the current dance area is next to the pool table.

Being that this place has been described in detail in the past, I will not repeat those descriptions. But what is different, there is a lowering of expectations regarding potential mileage, and unrestricted promises and sampling of goods while still at the bar.

I can't speak to why that happened, but the consensus seems to be, the dancers were giving too much away and the bar needs to tap into some of the proceeds. Everyone seems to have an opinion as to why a club needs to add to their revenue stream, but I think that there is a lot going on behind the scenes, be it le, license protection, or just plain greed of the owner.

At any rate, the usual shrill volume of the music was absent, and the thug factor was lower than usual. The dancers that were there, weren't as aggressive as usual, so it took a while to be approached. We sat and talked a while to get to know each other and eventually went for a dance.

The dance would probably be considered somewhat high mileage, without going into play by play, but for a bikini bar, even with a lowering of expectations, you probably would not be disappointed.
