I don't know what it is about the clubs I've visited in New Zealand, but so far they have been shabby, dank, low-life affairs and this one was no exception. It is as if you are in some kind of seedy B-grade movie. This is Auckland's oldest strip club (or rather, "strip tease joint"), and it looks and feels like it too. Twenty dollars gets you in, five for drinks, and thirty for a lap dance in a semi separate room. There is one catwalk-style stage. The night I was there there were 3 women working, and I can't say I thought any of them were very attractive or really knew how to dance. I half expected to see a cigarette hanging out of their mouths. Needless to say I wasn't inspired to buy a lapdance. Someone needs to tell the kiwis how to do a decent club--and it shouldn't be the aussies!
