Damn traffic
So, had a mid-afternoon appointment not that nearby, and decided to swing by the club before dinner. Biggest negative was horrible traffic, so by the time I arrived some of the older customers were already ordering dinner. (I’ve never had the food here, but have to admit it looks and smells good.)
Sat at the bar and ordered a local draft, and while I was tipping the bartender a pretty dancer asked if she could sit next to me. Usually I prefer to sit stage side for a few sets when I first arrive, but I said of course. She is relatively new to this club but not new to dancing, and we hit it off quickly. I soon forgot all about the painful drive here, and I was the one to bring up “wanna dance.”
The dance area has quirky rules. You check in with someone who counts songs and takes the house cut. You have to wait for the song to begin before you head back, otherwise you can end up paying for the whole song even if it’s the last several seconds. So, it seemed like the song was done, we started to head back, but got interrupted by the counter who told us the song wasn’t done. Sure enough, after a few second pause, the beat started where it left off and continued for the final thirty seconds.
