I used to love this place. A decade ago, my coworkers and I frequented this place often. We had known girls there. Girls there are really talented, skilled, and athletic compared to other clubs where the women are more of an average woman's body type and build and less skillful. There may be only 1 other club comparable in the entire City, in my friend's opinion. My problem isn't with the entertainment, however. That's still great. My issue is with their advertising and staff.
Even after I left that firm, I would still stop in for lunch ocassionally when working in the vicinity. I don't know what happened with their wait staff, but never have I felt so sexistly passed upon as here. Maybe I was dressed more casually than usual (instead of a suit or business attire) with a tanktop and yoga pants when I came in, but even I have received better service (except at Hooters and that's another story for another time)! Maybe that's because then, I look butchier when there with my Union brothers. I have been coming here for over a decade, mind you, in many phases of my life.
Seriously, stuff that you come to accept as common place and the minimal service elsewhere was just not present. I mean, not only did no one greet us at our table within 15 minutes of sitting down to ask if we wanted anything, but made all sorts of assumptions that really pissed me off. I NEVER NOT TIP. In fact everyone knows from my family, friends, and wait staff everywhere, that I am a generous tipper. This is why I get great service at ALL the establishments I frequent. I had to go out aggressively to find the girls . She then ASSUMED, we were SHARING and we overpaid on each dance.
Their ad states Prime Rib $15.95 11:30am to 11:30p ALL DAY not at 7pm to 11:30pm ONLY. We even called a week ago, and were told the same, all day prime rib deal, anytime. That was a complete lie, but regardless, we had dessert elsewhere to stave off our hunger pains and loitered in the freezing cold until 6:50p and walked back.
Her 2nd mistake, the 4th one of the night if you are keeping track, she thought mistakenly of course that THE MAN was paying and solicited my fiance twice when it came to the check asking HIM whether or not we wanted to start a tab or pay out, and cash or credit. Her body was 3/4 position to me the whole time, like women don't ever pay or some sexist old fashioned notion like that. Only a MAN would drag his gf in here, right?
It was his 1st time at a strip club (me? I'm a hardened VETERAN), AND it was MY idea to celebrate his earning his notary license and taking the oath at City Hall yesterday because he would FINALLY see what one of my favorite public Gentleman's Clubs in SF was like. I'm not pulling my receipt out and putting her on blast. I'm sure she's a nice person just a little mislead, so I don't want her to get in trouble, but I DO want them to know what can be improved and how.
I have no complaint about the food. It was excellent as usual and we DID leave satisfied after our meal, but it wasn't worth waiting 3 hours for or paying a $20 cover each to even eat. I remember when it was $11.99... GREAT steak it wasn't medium like we ordered but medium well. That's ok too anywhere in between there is fine.
I have had better at the House of Prime Rib which is where we expect to pay $35 a steak. That essentially is what we overpaid on this excursion. $20 + $15.95 = $35.95 steak. It was worth comparing bc trust me we go everywhere for Prime Rib and have been disappointed everytime. Granted it was a GREAT BONELESS STEAK, not worth the hassle or price. If you want TRUE Prime Rib, go to VanNess. I am sad to report yet again on our hunt for the best Prime, it is always there.
