Surprisingly OK night out

Working in Lansing and got a late start so didn't feel like driving to Detroit. So I took the short jog to Jackson and decided I was going to try something other than Avenues this time. This place hadn't been review in 3 years so I drove by to see if it was even still open. It was. Hours posted said 5-12 daily if I recall correctly (not 100% sure on Sun). Walked in, no cover. About 4-5 locals at any given time. Drinks were cheap and bartender was very friendly and nice. No inside smoking, so no ashtray smell. Had one drink all night and never pushed for more. Bathroom is downstairs. For those who care, it is far from a hotel clean bathroom, but not what I would call alley dirty either. It was a bathroom and served its purpose. No bathroom trolls. Old wooden stage in middle, songs selected off wall juke box and full length. There is a small upstairs like Bogies of old. The area consist of a pool table and a roped off area where dances are done. The dance area is a room more like the old H8N. Big open room and two couches that have clearly seen a fair share of mileage. If 2 are in the room, you can see what the other is doing obviously. No one really pays attention from the pool area as it is probably a regular and a dancer playing pool just killing time until the regular gets dances. If your not playing pool, you can't see in. Dancers would probably rate average to below average on most scales. Some carried some extra weight here and there, other not as much. All the dancers were super friendly. Some did dollar dances, very hands on dollar dances to make things clear what fun might be had in back, and the dollar dances were generally 20-40 seconds. I had thought dollar dances were a thing of the past, but not here. Not all the dancers did them, but the ones who did were Miami black club bar side dance type fun. All the dancers danced on stage, no one just circled the pole and expected a tip. They danced and worked. So that was also a plus. Tip placement was very liberal and all but one flashed goods on tips. Dances are $20 a pop, $23 some might charge to include their bar fee. I had multiple dances from 3 different ladies and spent about $120 total on the evening. Billy Joel karaoke was available from some at $20 per song plus whatever I chose to tip. All the ladies were sure to let you know a good time would be had and didn't hide that. While there were no diamonds in the rough, the ladies made this a fun and inexpensive night out. If I were stuck in the Jackson area, I would probably give it another shot. Let me be clear, do not expect cover girl models by any means. But if fun friendly average looking women with a little extra meat are OK in your book, you should be happy here. It was different and not someplace I would go nightly if I lived in the area, but definitely there is band for the buck to be had here between cheap drinks, good dances, and dollar dances. All in all, surprisingly an OK night out.
