Cinco de Eh

Mynx is one of the better clubs out there in CT. They have some social media presence that really needs improvement. They announced they were doing a Cinco de Mayo party on Saturday. They announced $5 Margaritas and $4 Coronas. They listed raffles and giveaways. Arrived about 1030pm and there was very little club vibe going on. The DJ has been at Groton Mynx for a long time and although he plays decent music (and videos?) he cannot get the vibe of the club going at all. There was minimal decoration, I think 2 paper hats and 2 paper signs that said Cinco de Mayo in the whole place. The girls were good as always. A couple stood out as being really good looking and couple that were more outgoing and friendly. There is a pool table in this place but the ball return was sticky. It has to be a drink someone spilled in there... right? please. There is a main stage that was going all night, but the smaller octagon stage didnt have any girls on it till 11:15pm. They had the club next door open at this time. Since there was not much going on in the main club we went next door to Mynx After Hours. I think there were 4 patrons in there before we came in. It just looked dark and sad. Bought a water each and went back to the main club where they told us that we could not enter with the waters that we had purchased from their business. $5 for a bottle of water that you have to drink in the parking lot? Super lame.

Anyway, it was still fun, and I am glad they listed that there was something going on for the date, but really werent impressed at all.

The club has a main floor, a stage area, a lap dance (private dance) area, a VIP area and a Champagne room. The rules here are a little flexible, but here is what I gather. The main floor, you can sit here all night as long as you buy some drinks. The stage, you need to always have at least a buck on the bar, ideally at least 2 or 3 but for the better girls 5 is pretty standard. The Private dance area is decent with large deep chairs and a dark area. The girls are packed in pretty tight on a weekend and the girls will bump into each other while dancing. Overall the dances are worth it for $25 per song. They have a VIP area, on Wednesdays (one girl) quoted me $150 for 15 min, but on Saturdays the girls have all said $180 for 15 min. The VIP area is very brightly lit in pink and I have never seen anyone in there. The Champagne room seems to be a 30 min where you can bring you drink with you, and pretty dark and secluded in the corner. The girls set their own prices, but Ive expected that it would be about $300 based on the VIP prices. Also, you wont see people going into the Champagne room, but maybe some do.
