It's Kansas

I've been to Paradise a few times before, but last Saturday was probably my best visit to date. The club is located in the middle of nowhere, like most Kansas clubs, and requires a membership to get in. Mine was $30 as it was my first time, and I'm told every year after that will be $15. This is a smoking club, so if your lungs aren't ready for it, you've been warned. The club layout is pretty straightforward, with an ATM and men's room (recently remodeled, AKA the urinal doesn't have a hole in it anymore) immediately upon entering. The bar is to your right with space for about 10. Two TVs bookend the main room with whatever sport showing. The only stage is on the far right with a single short pole. The "rail" consists of some uncomfortable chairs and tables, but most guys just walk up to the end of the stage and wait for the dancer to approach so they can tip. Songs are played off of a juke box style thing, though there's no charge to the dancer to select their music.

There are two dance areas, a $10 topless option behind the main couches across from the stage, and a VIP behind the two way mirror on the stage. VIP requires a $10 wristband and whatever charge the dancer charges (between $20-$50). Dances in VIP can be bottomless if the dancer chooses, and I've been told that price depends wholly upon your hygiene and pants selection. Drinks are cheap. Bottled water is $3, and mixed drinks are between $4-$6. I've never spent more than $10 between myself and the dancer for a round and that's counting the tip.

Last Saturday saw the most dancers I've seen in the place. The demographics matched Kansas well, with predominantly caucasian women working, with a few AA women mixed in. The dancers come in all shapes and sizes, and there's definitely something for everyone. KU is close by, so there are lots of students working their way through school. The dancers are generally friendly. A lot of them spend their time with regulars, but most regulars are one or two and done types, so the dancers free up quickly. That said, there is a bit of sitting around on the phone in the early hours. Honestly though, I haven't interacted with too many of them. For me, it's all about one woman I met on my first night there.
