First Visit Synopsis

Was heading up to New England and battling 2 hours of crawling traffic on I-95 north of NYC, so I needed to get out and stretch my legs and remembered that I read about Pleasant Moments on TUSCL. I figured I’d check it out.

The club is a 3 minute drive off of the I-95 exit and located in Bridgeport’s industrial district. I did not see a parking lot dedicated for the club; instead there was a ton of street parking available as the club is located at an intersection where the primary road has a grass island splitting it in half, so there are 4 curb lengths to park along on the street. Not sure I would want to be here after dark, but at 5:45pm on a Friday, there was plenty of activity and felt safe enough. Some older gentlemen from 400 feet away waved to me both when I left and went back to my car. There was also an employee in a fluorescent vest standing by the front door who said he would watch my car for me. I tipped him $2 on my way out. From the outside, the club looked like a small, converted, two story industrial office building.

Stepping inside, the place was absolutely packed. I would guess around 80 guys and 20+ girls. The crowd seemed to be predominantly black and latino. Two large bouncers greeted me at the door. One patted me down for weapons while the other sat at a small podium and checked my ID. $5 was the entrance fee. Both guys were in great spirits.
