Strike Out Number One for the Day

I decided to make a trip to a few of the central/western clubs in Connecticut as it had been awhile since I had visited any of these clubs. First up was Hollywood in Southington. I pulled into the parking lot at about 2:00 on a Saturday afternoon, which was 1 hour after opening. There was plenty of parking. I counted about 10 cars in the parking lot. There was no cover on entry. You enter on the left front corner of the building. When you enter the stage is to the right with seating for 15 or so customers. There are also tables in various area around, but slightly away from, the stage. If you continue past the stage the bar is along the back wall. The dance are is along the front of the building and is not very private. There are sheer curtains but they are sheer enough to see through.

There were 5 customers at the time I arrived, including myself. In the time I was there, which was not very long at all, I saw two dancers. There was an overweight white blond dancer on stage getting tips from the two guys at the stage. At the far end of the bar there was a very large AA dancer, and by very large I don’t mean in height. When I sat at the bar I noted that there was two other patrons also seated at the bar. It was interesting that all of the customers seemed to be well over 60.

I ordered a water because I felt it was going to be a quick departure. The bartender was attentive and took my order as soon as I was seated. I asked her if there were any other dancers on yet and the answer was the infamous “they are on their way in” answer. I waited for about 15 minutes. As the overweight blonde dancer was leaving the stage and I decided to move on. I know the dances are $25 each here but there is no way I wanted a dance from either girl that I saw. This stop was a waste of time. My last visit a couple of years ago was ok, but this one was pretty bad. It was probably just too early. I cut my losses and heading back to my car to visit my next stop, Mr. Happy’s in Waterbury.
