A Chill Afternoon

Dropped by Onyx around 2:00 pm on a Thursday, mainly to satisfy my curiosity about their day shift. Easy to find on Cheshire Bridge Road. The entrance is set back from the road, and the enormous parking lot was almost empty. Security guy at the door was friendly; ID check and a pat-down. No cover charge, no parking fee. A-OK so far. Inside, the main room is quite large. Safety tip: the room has several changes in grade, with short flights of steps in odd places. Let your eyes adjust before moving too fast and starting your visit with a face plant.

Took a seat at the bar with a few other PLs; total customer count was maybe 10, with four guys shooting pool in the area behind the bar. Bartender took my order and let me know "the dancers would be out soon." A generous pour of Johnnie Walker Black was $6 (outstanding value, especially at a place featuring naked women). DJ playing urban music from the 70s to today, at a volume which allowed for conversation. No one on stage yet, but a petite dancer joined me at the bar almost immediately. She was attractive, sweet, and made for pleasant company. At this point, the vibe is less strip club and more low-key afternoon at a locals joint.

There appeared to be three dancers on the floor; all AA (as expected), each fit and attractive, with different body types. The tiny dancer and I had a couple more drinks and watched an audition. We then moved to a booth on the side for some dances; sensual, with ATL-grade two-way contact (i.e., more than Cheetah-style air dances, but not Follies-brand groping). After several dances, some more conversation, and by now (call it 3:15) dancers were preforming on stage consistently. The place got busier, but the laid-back afternoon vibe continued.
