Strike 2

So after the disastrous visit to Flashdance Friday, I’m passing by Ultra and decide to give it a shot. Been a long time, different day of the week (albeit the day before Easter).

I step in, pay the lady $1 (why? Seems silly) and step past a bar into the stage area, where I’m immediately accosted by a dancer and I get the feeling I wasn’t supposed to go in there. I’m introduced to the bartender, so I get a drink, leave a tip, and the dancer is just shy of hanging on me as I try to get to a seat. And there’s no one in there. Maybe a half dozen patrons, most had a girl sitting with them.

Dancer tells me they open at 2, and that they’re getting a late start...the stage is empty. And it’s 4:15. I get a better look at her. Must be late 40s, fake rack, lip job, kinda ok legs. She’s leaning in to whisper in my ear about how she likes to take care of her customers and I should let her take me back and show me. I tell her maybe in a bit, just want to see how things go here. Five minutes (or less) later same thing, offers more for less $, come on, I’ll make it worth it. Finally agree to a couch dance and it’s awkward. She’s trying, but the light is better and she’s not looking better.
