Why Are There Strip Clubs In San Diego?
Because there's no reason not to just go south to TJ. I took an Uber from the airport to the old border crossing, which is exceptionally poorly marked. Going through customs my enhanced driver's license was not accepted for entry, but fortunately I had my passport card also as a backup. Walking down the other side of the customs building there was an SUV limo for HK, and I asked him if I could get a ride (I had not arranged any transportation earlier). No issues, and five minutes later I was at the club. I was overnighting it so I had reserved a room, so I dropped my bag off first.
I sprung for a slightly fancier room since this was my first visit, but I wouldn't bother next time. The club was everything I hoped it would be, what can I say? You will find something that you like. A ready supply of small bills to tip your waiter, the guy handing out shawls to the girls going to the hotel, the doorman, is useful. When I was checking out I had to wait to have the room's bar inspected so I could get my $50 deposit back. The same SUV limo took me near the old border crossing, which looked completely different from the area I had crossed over the previous day.
Going through US customs we had to wait in a line for an arbitrarily long time while the two border agents (glorified TSA really) screwed off. No issues once inside the customs building, and I took the trolley back to downtown. Having a bus or shuttle from the US to the club would be the only way to make things easier. If you drop serious money in a club for nothing buy a plane ticket to San Diego and go to Hong Kong, you'll end up being money ahead and have a way better time.
