Sinclair's Review
I went to Mints on a Saturday night after midnight. The parking lot is located behind the club. There was a $10 cover charge at the door. The club is a huge room. There is a large island bar in the front as you enter. There is an additional bar on the right wall of the club. The back right corner has a pool table. The left wall has cubicles for lap dances. The back left corner is the DJ booth. The middle of the club is a large irregular shaped stage with three dancing positions: two poles and one swinging bar hanging from the ceiling. The rest of the club is littered with table and uncomfortable chairs with metal backs. A Sincweiser was $6.75. I did not find this out until my second Sincweiser because the first waitress charged me $7.00.
The entertainers here really run the gamut in terms of beauty. I saw dancers that ranged between a 2 and an 8. Most of the dancers seem to be immigrants or second generation Canadians. There were many Eastern European dancers, some dancers of African descent, and a couple of Latinas. Maybe only two of the dancers were your classic Anglo-surnamed Canadian girl. Most of those types were working as waitresses and bartenders. Three of the six waitresses on duty were fine as hell. The Eastern Bloc hustlers were the most annoying dancers to deal with. They would approach you and just say, “Do you want a dance?” If you would decline, they would keep pressing the sale or give you a snide goodbye. Don’t expect any friendly chit-chat; the ladies here seemed all business. Lap dances are $20 per song. There are also VIP rooms, but I did not catch the price.
The club almost felt more like a regular nightclub than a strip club. There were alot of couples and mixed groups. The basement of Mints is a strip club with male strippers called Peppermints, so that may explain why there are so many young women that found their way into Mints. The waitresses, bartenders, and young female patrons were sexier than ninety percent of the dancers. Besides a few select dancers, I was staring at the civilians more than the stage show. I ended up flirting with some girls at the table next to mine and buying them shots. All of the waitresses carry a small rack of test tube shots on their tray. The shots were $7 and tasted fruity, but not strong.
