It's True! Vics Is

As a long time monger - ( pushing 40 years :) ) and a VICs visitor for nearly 15 of those, I had to return to see if the reports were true. Are the bar-side parties over?

Stopped by last Tues. afternoon around 4:30 and can confirm - a pat down but no $5 at the door. I knew what to look for, so I noticed the curtained cubbies along the back wall. I chose to ignore them and pretend nothing had changed and strode over to the back side of the bar as usual. I instinctively turned to shimmy past the pool table and immediately felt dumb because the pool table is gone and I was just sort of shimmying in space for a few steps. I quickly recovered by cool and looked down the length of the back bar. It was a different sight: ordinarily every seat is taken, many with guys and dancers "sharing" them and there are few or no guys standing. I saw four empty stools at the bar, and, I kid you not, 6 guys standing along the wall. Even "the" stool waay back in the corner was EMPTY!

Since there was no room along the wall I sat along the bar and before long a dancer stopped by. Mist, Misty, Musty, something like that. I tipped a bit and pretended ( again ) that nothing had changed and started assuming a barside dance was about to start, when she turned away and whispered "no more playing at the bar, darling, but we can get a 20 minute private dance that is better than anything out here".
