Making Progress
I was in the Windy City for a full weekend, so I decided to try and make the most of it by first visiting a CF at Scores. Unfortunately, though, I think I've worn out my welcome with her, and there wasn't much else to pick from there. So just trying to salvage something from the night, I decided to head down the street to Gold Club.
By this point in the night, it was past 3 a.m. and I was just hoping to finish the night on a high note. So I made my way into the club, paying both the valet and cover, and just kind of hoped something would, figuratively and literally, fall into my lap.
When I got in, they asked if I had been there before. I said it had been a long time. So they wanted to take me up to their VIP area to sit on a big couch. But, for me, Gold Club isn't as good of a place for this as, say, Polekatz. At Polekatz, you know they'll send their top-notch talent up through the VIP exclusively every once in a while, while it's also a good place to just sit at a table and see what's going on in the whole club. Because the VIP area at Gold Club is just on the "left" side of the club (relative to when you walk in, not really raised all that much, and obscured from all the ladies sitting at the bar on the opposite side of the club (kind of an offshoot of the main "box" shape of the club), VIP seems almost to be a disadvantage, particularly for a guy like me sitting alone. You're pretty much forcing me to take what you're going to give me, which will probably be the girl on the VIP stage when I walk in, rather than letting me see what I want, make eye contact and hope she comes to me. As soon as the host wanted to seat me, I said, "No thanks, I'd rather walk around." And I did.
