Friday Night Out With The Fellas
Typical Friday night of eating and drinking with friends. We were walking around the streets a bit until one of my friends saw and suggested we check out Ricks. I always passed Ricks thinking it was just a run of the mill clubs since it was very close to Penn Station so I kept my expectations low. Pretty glad that I did for the much better experience.
Met with the bouncer at the door who seemed pretty cool. Seemed more of a doorman than a bouncer because he checked to see if they had an available space for our group, as well as asked what type of girls we liked. Told him what we liked (I asked for a thick Latina fyi) and proceed to check our coats and head to a chair seating area. As soon as we sat down, the bouncer explained the rules such as a per drink minimum, the cost and what to expect. He left and a few minutes later came back with dancers who fit our description of what we were into. We chatted a bit until it came down to business. So a dance right there on the floor was $20 a song, which wasn't bad at all. After the dance, I tipped the girl and I asked if she offers anything else. IIRC she said that we can have a private dance for half an hour for $350 and $700 for the hour. I opted with just the single song dances after hearing those prices lol. The music from what I remember was R&B, hip hop, and rock.
I explored the area a bit and I believe there was a second floor but I never got a chance to check that out. There's pretty much two dance areas (one small enough for only one dancer to make her tips) and a bar area with a few TVs playing sports at the time. After scoping the place I noticed there were a ton of Russians dancers. Following after them were Latinas, then black women and finally Asians. Very few of the last two seeing as I recognized the same 4-5 girls that kept walking around asking for dances. Got a few dances here and there and didn't feel cheated at all which I was surprised at because at least one dancer (from my experience from other clubs anyway) would be extremely nonchalant about it. So I thought that was a plus. The only negative I have would be the prices. I know being in NYC that should be a given, but I almost paid the price of a single dance for beer. I didn't even bother asking for a mixed drink because I can only imagine what those prices are.
