First Time, First Impressions

This review is part of my first ever visit to TJ. While I spent the majority of my time in Hong Kong (see separate review), I did pop in to Adelita Bar for about 45 minutes to check out another venue.

I felt completely safe and comfortable in Adelita. The atmosphere was nowhere near the energy level at Hong Kong. The entire time I was in Adelita, I was not ever approached by even one woman. I had 1 beer and circulated the room. I found the women working there to be a notch below Hong Kong in hotness. Also, if there were any more attractive women, they were attached to men or sitting in a group. I only spoke with one woman that night -- or tried to. Her English was virtually non existent, as is my Spanish. Lacking the ability to have any conversation, she abruptly without shame or flirtation, stated "arriba, 80?". As the offer lacked any romance of any kind, I demurred.

As I mention in my Hong Kong review, I worry that my expectations for my TJ trip were so off the charts, perhaps it was inevitable that I would leave disappointed. I had conjured images of multiple pops, massive GFE, mind-blowing, life altering stuff. In the end, it was way more open and way more available than anything in the USA. For that reason, it is a trip not to be missed. For me, I miss the thrill of the chase, maybe. Perhaps too wham bam.
