Biiiig Mistake

My buddies and I came out of a show at the Largo on La Cienega and since we already had a great parking space for that, we decided to jaywalk across the boulevard and check out Synn. One of them had been there before and said it was a sleazy dump and that somehow held great appeal for him. I guess his philosophy was the crummier the club, the nastier the dancers. It did not apply here.

This place was once called the Star Strip and I went there decades ago. It doesn't seem like a lot has been done to spruce it up since then and there was one dancer who might have been there then. The Synn chain has a rep for getting the hottest dancers and I guess they needed to have a place to send the girls who weren't good enough for the other clubs. My friends and I agreed that six out of the eight we saw were in the wrong business. The other two were great but in that dark, depressing setting, it was hard to get too aroused about anything.

I think part of the problem is that this club is just old and in the wrong neighborhood. One block from the Beverly Center is not where you're going to get a hot lap dance.
