Don't Bother

The last time I was in Huntsville a couple of months ago, Visions was closed. I can’t remember if why. This trip, it had a new sign on the side of the building close to the road that read “Sophie’s.” The entrance is on the side of the building inside the parking los. The canopy over the door still said “Visions,” so I don’t know what its called now.

Stepping insider the door, it looked like the entrance anteroom had recently been remodeled. It had some contemporary looking wood paneling on the walls that still smelled fresh. It looked pretty nice. A cute door girl took my $5 cover charge. This was probably the best part of the club.

Stepping inside, it was clear that the rest of the club hasn’t seen a renovation in decades. The club is one large, run down looking, rectangular room. There are pool tables immediately inside the entrance. Past the pool tables is the main stage in the middle of the club. Past that to the left is the bar, which is undersized for the size of the club, but it didn’t matter because this was a slow Tuesday evening. There were about a dozen customers scattered around the club. I took a seat at the bar and ordered a beer, which was about $4 something.I think there were eight dancers working, about 50/50 white/AA. In looks they ranged from a 2 that had striking resemblance to a manatee to a couple of fairly decent looking, although heavily tattooed 6+s. I watched most of the girls rotate through the stage as I sipped on my beer and tipped a couple. There was a “no touching” notice painted on the edge of the stage, but it was ignored by the customers and the girls, who were moderately interactive when taking tips. All of the girls were already tied up and went immediately back to their customers when they finished their stage sets, so I didn’t have the opportunity to talk to any about VIP services and costs, which was fine by me since none of them really struck my fancy. I finished most of my beer and headed out the door.
