Business As Usual

It had been a while since I had been to Players, so I decided it was time for a return visit. I arrived at the club around 7:45pm on a Friday. While all the other clubs have a cover charge at this time of night, Players does not until 9:00pm. That is something to keep in mind if you prefer to have some extra cash for stage tips and dances. Coat check was $3 + tip. Valet was $7 + tip. A beer was $4 + tip, which is still the lowest price I've paid for beer at a Detroit area club.

When I arrived, there were plenty of open seats at the bar and plenty of open booths to sit at. I first stopped at the bar to order a beer. I then made my way to the only open table near the stage. There were maybe 15-20 customers in the club. Most of them were in groups. There were a couple dancers sitting with groups of regulars. There was one dancer on stage. The stage rotation was 3 songs per dancer.

It did not take long for me to spot a dancer that interested me. It happened to be the second dancer I saw go on stage. I tipped her, but when she got off stage, she went back to a group of regulars.
