A Different (but Not So Different) Buffalo Strip Club

The Colonie Lounge is different than other Buffalo strip clubs in a few ways. One, it is located in a suburban part of town on Hertel Avenue. Second, it is one of the few bars in Buffalo that allows for smoking. I visited on a Monday night (around 10p), and paid the cover to the bouncer. ($5, if I remember correctly.) It is not a fancy establishment at all. If anything, it has a dive/neighborhood-bar type feel. The club is really just one large room: when you walk in, there is a stage in the center, which is surrounded by tables and chairs on all sides, and a bar to the center left.

The club does a good job of making sure there is always a girl on stage. (Something that cannot be said for most Buffalo strip clubs.) There were something like 5-7 girls working this night, mostly white but a few black girls as well. For a Buffalo strip club, I'd say the girls are above average. The club was not too busy: there were a few people sitting at the bar, and one large group and a couple of others sitting around the stage. I'd say there were something like 10-12 people there. After a few drinks, I tipped one of the girls on stage. I eventually took her to the private/VIP area. I paid something like $140 for 30mins. This area of the club is one large room with a bunch of black, leather couches arranged along the walls.

On the one hand, there is not much privacy if other people are in the room, but, on the other hand, no bouncers seem to keep an eye on it. The dance was a bit of a disaster. For one, the couches are pretty small, so it is hard for the girls to get very comfortable while dancing. In this particular instance, the girl had allergies from the smoke, and was constantly blowing her nose. I let her finish early, and soon left. While the Colonie Lounge has some features that make it distinct, in the end was is a pretty average experience, which for Buffalo is all you can really expect and hope for.
