Almost Perfect

Recent visit to Denver and I somewhat reluctantly decided to check out the club scene on a Weds. night. My reluctance came from reading TUSCL reviews of the various Denver clubs, which are not too encouraging in terms of what you can get and what the prices are. Decided to start with Shotgun Willies with the plan to move to Diamond Cabaret if Shotgun didn’t work out. I entered at about 9 p.m. and paid a small cover charge, maybe $10. Shotgun is a decent sized, spread out over one large floor with an elevated bar area, private area, and dance area around the sides and back of the room. In the main area there are 6 or 7 stages. By 10 there was a dancer on every stage all the time. I was very impressed by the dancer quality. Not a single fat gal and none that I would call outright ugly. Some 6s, but few. On this night the average quality compared favorably with a place like Bourbon Street in Phoenix.

One thing I liked is that many of the girls were willing to just sit and chat with me for an extended period. And no hustle whatsoever to buy them a drink or anything else. Of course, they are all hoping that you eventually will take them for a dance but I found that if I didn’t want a dance I could give them a couple of bucks for their time and they seemed perfectly happy with that. Spent a good part of the evening with a slender brunette from Virginia named Mylie. Her accent was just too cute and we had great conversations. Also spent a fair bit of time with a cute Latina from Miami with Guatemalan heritage. Many other very cute ladies to sit with or watch on stage as well.

Watching the stage dances is probably the best think about Shotgun. The ladies will get up close and give you good views for a buck or two. Some will do the slap your head with the boobs thing. But beyond that there really isn’t much stage-side touching. I enjoyed moving between stages and watching my favorites.
