Same As Always, Which Is A Good Thing

DV8 remains one of my primary examples of a good Portland club. Which is to say, a comfortable dive bar with friendly people, some of whom happen to be good looking and naked.

Stopped in on a cold Friday afternoon, got a coke (actually RC there?) for $2. Friendly bartender, handful of regular types sitting around at the bar drinking with a couple of the girls watching Law and Order reruns. Two guys at the rail maybe, and a couple more here and there at tables. Basic practice is to sit at the rail when you feel like it, leave 1-2 bucks there per song, and the girl will come give a little attention to each person in turn as she makes her way around.

For some periods, that meant switching between all 2-3 of us (so each $2 got 2 or 3 minutes of a girl in your lap), and for some periods, other guys would go up to the bar for a bit which meant $2 suddenly got all of the attention for a 5-6 minute song - the cheapest lap dances possible, though the contact is all one-way then. Each girl does 2 songs, then steps aside for the next one. When a girl comes up that isn't to your fancy, tradition is to go back to Law and Order or shoot a round of pool over to the side (at least, that's what I did). Handful of guys just hiding in the back playing video poker (also an acceptable way to skip a girl now and then).
