How The Mighty Has Fallen...
Long ago before days of five finger death punches (look it up) and Philadelphia strip club crackdowns, this club was a happenin' place. I'd go there around every other month - usually during the week - and after about 9, the place would be full of patrons and dancers. In fact, on this trip I went to Club Risque on the Delaware and it reminded me (a bit) of how the Oasis used to be.
This is the first time I visited Oasis since an experience about 5-6 years ago (post-crackdown) when I was getting some mileage in the VIP room and had the mileage shut down by the owner who also fired the dancer on the spot. I thought I'd go back to see if vestiges of the old Oasis either still existed or had resurfaced.
What a downer. The place was nearly empty - of dancers and patrons - on a Saturday night at midnight. I was one of 6 patrons at the bar, the security/bouncer guys were standing around with no one to secure or bounce, there was a bored dude in the chairs that spent more time looking at his phone than at the stage and the dancers who were there spent more time dancing with the floor manager than approaching any customers.
